Flex fans

Guys do these fans work? My car doesnt over heat but just would like to grab a few extra hp. I know you will always say electric but i want the simplicity of the mechanical fan. Let me know what you guys think.

In a mechanical type fan a thermostatic clutch unit is the most efficient (uses less HP)

Sorry guys typed this last nite and i was pretty tired lol. Bubba glad you understood what i meant. I will edit it so the original post is coherent. So inother words no flex fan. I really just wanted something with a little better look and free up a few hp.

One downside to flex fans, some have been known to toss a blade through the hood. Breakage is due to metal fatigue caused by flexing. Electric though more involved are safer in that aspect AND use less power than the flex fan.

They do pull some serious air at idle. I could put a have rag against the front of the radiator at idle and it would hold it there. I may exaggerate some on the sound, but I like nice quiet engines.

the flex fans are great, but I did a donut in dirt just once and the flex fan flexed enough and did donut's in my radiator... had to replaced both... never again.

IMO flex fans are great for those who have room to use them properly, like them bent guys...
